Arium gift cards

Gift cards are available to purchase in any value or denominations and can be used on all purchases in the shop, Cafe Arium, and the Potting Shed Cafe, with the exception of Stockeld Christmas Trees.

Note: Loyalty card points are not available to use against a gift card purchase or in conjunction with any purchases made by a gift card.

Sign up for the Arium loyalty card in store

As soon as you have your loyalty card, you can start using it to earn points on your purchases in the shop, Cafe Arium and the Potting Shed Cafe.

  • For each pound (£1) you spend, you will earn one point on your Arium loyalty card.
  • One point is worth one penny (1p) to spend on products in store.
  • Points can be redeemed at any time and used toward a purchase in the shop or cafes.
  • We will not exchange loyalty card points for cash and the offer is non-transferable.
  • Points are only valid to collect and redeem at The Arium Nursery, Thorner Lane, Whinmoor, Leeds, LS14 3FB.

Arium gift card terms and conditions

1. The promoter of this gift card is Leeds City Council whose registered office is Civic Hall, Calverley Street, Leeds, LS1 LUR.

2. The gift card is redeemable in The Arium whose registered address is Thorner Lane, Leeds, LS14 3FB.

3. This gift card cannot be exchanged for cash.

4. Any additional cost exceeding the value of this gift card is to be paid by the redeemer of the voucher.

5. The Arium is not responsible should the gift card become lost, stolen or ruined. A replacement will not be provided in these circumstances.

6. The Arium reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

Arium loyalty card terms and conditions

Any reference to ‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘us’ shall mean Leeds City Council.

  • All Arium loyalty cards shall belong to us.
  • Points are only valid to collect and redeem at The Arium Nursery, Thorner Lane, Whinmoor, Leeds, LS14 3FB. If any other Arium Nursery is opened where the loyalty card may be used, this will be advertised in store and notified to customers who have given consent to receive marketing communications.
  • We may take any action that we consider appropriate, including removing or suspending a loyalty card account and points accrued if we have reason to believe you are abusing the scheme or associated offers.
  • Your Arium loyalty card does not have an expiry date. However, we will remove any loyalty points registered to an Arium loyalty account that has not been used for one year or where your account has been closed.
  • For each pound (£1) you spend, you will earn 1 point on your Arium loyalty card.
  • Points are not available to use against a gift voucher purchase or in conjunction with any purchases made by a gift card.
  • One point is worth one penny (1p) to spend on products in store.
  • We will not exchange loyalty card points for cash and the offer is non-transferable.
  • Points cannot be spent on any products supplied by any third-party. Restrictions apply. Please ask a member of staff.
  • The Arium loyalty card is non-transferable and must be presented at the till at the time of purchase. The points gained will then be assigned to your account. We cannot be held responsible for any unauthorised use of your Arium loyalty card, or for lost, stolen or damaged Arium loyalty cards.
  • If you become aware that your card is lost, damaged or stolen, please report this to us as soon as possible so that the card can be cancelled. You may open a new Arium loyalty card account and your points will be transferred to your new account provided you are in receipt of the original account form to enable us to link your previous account.
  • We will not be liable for any costs or losses which arise in connection with the Arium loyalty scheme being cancelled or amended.
  • You can pick up your Arium loyalty card in store. As soon as you have your card, you can start using it to earn points.
  • You must notify us as soon as possible if you change your name, address, or email address. This can be done in store or by contacting us on arium@leeds.gov.uk
  • If you have earned points on a product which you decide to return, then you will need to present your Arium loyalty card in store at the time of return so that the relevant points can be deducted from your account.
  • To spend points in store, simply present your Arium loyalty card and tell the cashier how many points you would like to pay with against your shopping.
  • You can also close your account at any time by notifying us by emailing arium@leeds.gov.uk. If an account is closed for any reason, all right to spend the points from that account will be denied.
  • We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, or withdraw or alter the Arium loyalty card scheme on reasonable notice; such changes will be posted on the Arium website. The amended terms will apply to the use of your Arium loyalty card.
  • We do not warrant or represent that your Arium loyalty card will always be accepted. In the unlikely event of a failure of our IT and communications systems, we may not be able to add points or redeem any stored points as payment during such a system failure.
  • We shall not be held liable for any default resulting directly or indirectly from any cause beyond our control, including but not limited to, failure of network services and failure of data processing systems. To the extent permitted by law, all conditions or warranties implied by law, statue or otherwise are expressly excluded.
  • These terms and conditions are subject to the laws of England and Wales.

Arium loyalty scheme - Privacy notice

The Arium loyalty scheme has been set up as an incentive for repeat customers at The Arium. When signing up for the loyalty rewards scheme, customers will receive points for every pound they spend at The Arium which can be used on future purchases in the both the retail area and cafes.

Leeds City Council is the data controller for any information processed as part of this scheme.

The information we collect

We only collect and use the minimum amount of personal information required when delivering this scheme:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact details
  • Date of birth

The purposes for collecting your data

  • Linking personal data to a personal loyalty account.
  • Potential for marketing purposes in the future.
  • Date of birth to help determine customer base.

All the data collected during the scheme will be treated in strict confidence and in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). The data provided by you will not be used for any purpose, other than this scheme.

We will process your data based on your consent in accordance with Article 6a of the Data Protection Act 2018.

The processing shall be lawful only if and to the extent that the following applies:

  • the data subject has given consent to the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes

You have the right to withdraw your consent from participating in the scheme at any time. However, withdrawing from the scheme will mean you will lose all points gained from past purchases. If you decide that you no longer wish to participate in the scheme, please contact us via arium@leeds.gov.uk

How long we will keep your data

Our data retention policies and procedures are designed to help ensure that we comply with our legal obligations in relation to the retention. This means that your paper application form will be kept for 3 months and then disposed of. The information which has been manually inputted onto our Epos (Electronic Point of Sales) system will remain on the system for as long as your account remains active. If your account is inactive for one year, the account will be deleted.

Who we will share your data with

We will share your data with Swan Retail. All information collected will be manually processed and stored on the Arium’s Electronic point of sales (EPOS) system run by Swan Retail.

Your data protection rights

Your principal rights under data protection law are:

  • the right to access - you can ask for copies of your personal data
  • the right to rectification - you can ask us to rectify inaccurate personal data and to complete incomplete personal data
  • the right to erasure - you can ask us to erase your personal data
  • the right to restrict processing - you can ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data
  • the right to object to processing - you can object to the processing of your personal data
  • the right to data portability - you can ask that we transfer your personal data to another organisation or to you
  • the right to complain to a supervisory authority - you can complain about our processing of your personal data
  • the right to withdraw consent - to the extent that the legal basis of our processing of your personal data is consent, you can withdraw that consent

These rights are subject to certain limitations and exceptions. You can learn more about the rights of data subjects through the Information Commissioner's Office.

You may exercise any of your rights in relation to your personal data by written notice to us, using the data protection officer contact details.
